Fragile nails
Many people complain about fragile nails. The nail plate is brittle and vulnerable. Even with low impact, the nail can split into layers and tear.
Vitamins, calcium and minerals are important for healthy growth and maintenance of strong nails.
A variety of factors can cause fragile nails:
- imbalanced diet (vitamin B deficiency)
- overexposure to sunlight
- skin diseases (fungal diseases, eczema, psoriasis)
- circulatory disorders
- medicines (anticoagulants)
- intense pressure
- mechanical damage (careless manicure)
- direct contact with detergents, solvents or chemicals
